A downloadable game for Windows

Hardliner is a retro-styled first person shooter built with Construct 2 and the Baby 3D plugin. It's being developed alongside said plugin and serves mostly as a proof of feasiblity at this point.

The current pre-alpha demo consists of a single level and prominently features assets by Paul Zarcynzski, Alex Semenov and mutantleg.

Controls:

  • WASD - movement and menu navigation
  • X - shoot and confirm
  • LEFT MB - shoot
  • SPACE - jump
  • E - interact
  • F - kick
  • C - crouch
  • ESC - return / pause menu

Known issues:

  • Enemies might get stuck in places
  • Floating crates behave funny when fluid level is lowered
  • Pressing ESC disables mouselock
  • Lowest difficulty level appears to break enemy behavior
  • Performance deterioration when restarting (close and open game again to fix)

If you have a high refresh rate monitor consider playing Hardliner at 60hz for a smoother experience.

Cool demo man. It does need some refinement thought, faster movement, better controls and faster shooting. But the visuals look cool.

All true. At least some of it should be improved in an upcoming update. Thanks for checking out the demo!

For now I'm using Rooj 3d plugin. It has generating models from verts. But if you need some help with some of the development, maybe some og music, or levels, let me know. ( I'm Megatronx from construct forums. )

Hey, its you :) The verts thing may just become possible in the next plugin update, so keep an eye out for that. If I actually get a bit further with the game I might hit you up for some help... do you use Discord?

On discord berly, but you can add me there mikolajalexander ( black and white photo of me ). I appreciate your willingness to help, but you know what, I recently got so piped off with construct, that I'm out, leaving it. You can read it here https://www.construct.net/en/forum/construct-2/addons-29/rojo3d3d-engine-constru...

Basically I was working cautiously with precision, testing everything step by step, building on top each step, and when it came to moving forward, something isn't working right, and couldn't figure out what. We know this happens quite often, but I was really making sure that everything works, yet now having a lot of variables and stuff, finding in those event's what is not working in the whole system became an impossibility. I guess i might still look in to it later, but I think it's time to move on.

Understandable as I'm myself in the (slow) process of leaving everything Construct-related behind. Have been dabbling in Godot for a while and aim to get into it more.

But I'm still going to get the plugin to 1.0 sooner or later. Swansong or something...

I'll try to add you on Discord.
